I find it pretty important. I like to make ethical decisions when choosing a printer. That's not a printer I would use knowing the facts. However, it's not a printer I would have used to begin with because they are a brokerage and overcharge KSers. This is kind of just a ... "oh" moment.

I see that site has mysteriously crashed now:

The Gazette / HARPY AGENDA
« on: July 22, 2015, 06:18:38 AM »

The Harpy Agenda is a no-strings-attached microgrant of $100, for an exceptional piece of comics criticism or comics journalism, by a writer of color. It is co-administered by Shing Yin Khor and Taneka Stotts.

Our Goals

  • To help compensate comics journalists and critics of color for the often free, and always invaluable, work that they do.
  • To promote diverse, unique, and new voices in the field of comics criticism and journalism.
  • To encourage the development of complex, thoughtful, and passionate, comics criticism and journalism, from writers of color.
  • A minimum of one grant will be awarded monthly.

You can find out more about this project at

The Academy / Re: Purchase domain or hosting first
« on: July 22, 2015, 05:59:12 AM »
Always get your domain from a place you intend to buy hosting. It takes care of a lot of transferring that is a pain in the neck later on.

Bluehost, 1and1, and (though I don't like them) dreamhost - are some of the tops with the cheapest plans. My personal favorite being Bluehost. I have both a 1and1 and Bluehost account, so if you have any further questions ask away.

Welcome :)

I feel anyone is capable of putting ads on a site, be they PW or or just Google Ads. Yes funneling traffic is something you have to learn, but leaving it to someone else, you're just giving them greater profits for those 100 visits, instead of yourself. Ask yourself what are they are ultimately giving you in return for use of your comics and or name in which they benefit greater from?

The Tavern / Re: Patreon?

It's all about what you're comfortable with and knowing your audience.

Full Circle produces maybe 2 pages a month (unless my artist gets sick), but we do make sure our monthly rewards are always delivered, therefore we are monthly. Per page for a comic that updates constantly or not is a gamble and again is about you knowing your audience and what you're requesting of them. I personally do not read Goblins, but I know that creator has had quite the bit of trouble including a really wonky Kickstarter where he got left holding an empty bag while someone ran away with all the money. This could or could not lead to more people sympathizing for him and thus giving a bit more. So there is that factor as well.

I am about to revamp my Patreon because I have not been showing it nearly enough love. I'll do that right after I climb out from under this mountain of paperwork. *hand reaches for the light*

By taking down content, and driving traffic to direct competitors, you are partaking in conduct that is detrimental or unfair to Tapastic which is why the series is blocked.

Wow that is such bullshit and is literally calling them out with proof that it was bullshit. They are trying to protect their shitty site from people using it as a mirror. So essentially the twitter person LIED to everyone. Because they were just using you for your content until they felt fit. MAN SCREW TAPASTIC, they are full of it!

I can totes understand why you did all of that. However, it was nice that their twitter support was actually supportive instead of sweeping it under a rug. I still call shenanigans because I don't feel you needed your content blocked and they never told you exactly why it was. According to their TOS you broke none of the rules that I can see so I was baffled by it being reported/blocked/or whatever in the first place.
