The San Francisco 49ers will likely fill their top needs during the NFL draft that is a month from now. That shouldnít prevent the team from continuing to improve their depth on the roster. Here are two players that the team could look at on each side of the ball.OG-Andy LevitreLevitre is 33-years old and is coming off of a torn triceps injury. A similar injury that forced the former Atlanta Falcons starting left guard to miss time in the 2017 postseason. You arenít bringing in Levitre to start, though. You are bringing in the veteran that has proven he can get the job done in the NFL. Prior to Levitre being injured, he was widely regarded as one of the top guards in football. Thereís no telling if he is still that player, but with the familiarity in Kyle Shanahanís offense, Levitre can certainly provide some much needed depth at guard. If he wins a starting spot, I donít think youíll see anyone complaining. Especially with the contract Levitre will command coming off of an injury and entering his 11th season. Levitre could also mentor guys like Laken Tomlinson, Mike Person, and Josh Garnett.LB-Jamie CollinsWhen you watched Collins play for the Cleveland Browns in 2018, it was evident he simply wasnít interested in being a part of that team. A change of scenery would be welcomed for the versatile defender. Collins has the type of skills a team like the 49ers should covet. Not only can Collins run and cover, but he can play on the line of scrimmage as well. Last year for the Browns Collins played 255 snaps on the defensive line. Collins had four sacks on 140 pass rush snaps. For reference, Ronald Blair was second on the 49ers in sacks last year with 5.5. He rushed the passer 338 times. With no more Cassius Marsh, the team could use a third pass rusher that can bring more to the table than just one trait. Collins is the type of athlete you bet on. San Francisco would be wise to incentivize Collins contract. The effort was an issue in 2018, the talent was not. The San Francisco 49ers blew another game to drop to 1-7 , and now they get to face another awful football team. The 49ers host the Oakland Raiders on Thursday Night Football this week in a matchup of one-win teams. The 49ers looked ready to get their second win, but lost 18-15 on a late Christian Kirk touchdown. The Raiders lost to the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, dropping to 1-6. They led heading into the fourth quarter, only to give up 21 unanswered points en route to a 42-28 loss. The Westgate SuperBook opened their lines for Week 9, and the 49ers initially opened as a four-point favorite for TNF. The number was of note because last week, the look-ahead line had the 49ers as 2.5 point favorite The look-ahead line is the early projection, to which we can compare the actual line. Since opening at 49ers -4, the line has slipped at the Westgate to a field goal. Most sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark have the 49ers as three- or 3.5-point favorites. The 49ers are the better team, but I also thought the 49ers would beat the Arizona Cardinals in Week 8. We saw how that played out. I would take the 49ers with a field goal spread, but this time has proven its inability to close games ó even against atrocious teams. I think this ends up a close game, but who knows who will actually win it. I donít want to let the 49ers recent performance impact how I see this game playing out, but taking the points with the Raiders might end up being your best bet.
